There is no way that Kelsi is 12!!
Today is Kelsi's 12th birthday! I cannot believe how fast the time has gone by. She is such a special girl and so I thought I would share the top 12 reasons why I love Kelsi (of course there is a million more, but since this is her 12th birthday.....)
1. She is Beautiful
2. She is Smart
3. She is Sensitive
4. She is VERY helpful
5. She loves little kids (especially her little brother and sister)
6. She has a 6th sense - she always knows when things need to be done or people need love
7. She has a gorgeous smile
8. She is responsible
9. She is crafty
10. She is loving
11. She is friendly
12. She is modest
I am so grateful to have this beautiful young lady as my daughter. Here is a glimpse into the past 12 years:

Spending time with family
I love spending time with my family. This past weekend we had a lot of fun. On Friday night we went downtown to the Brigham Young Historic Park to hear one of our favorite Christian Country bands - Joshua Creek. We packed a picnic lunch of sandwiches, chips, pasta salad, molasses cookies (thanks to my friend Mario Murga for the recipe) and drinks. We set out a blanket and sat and ate, while Carson ran the entire park about 10 times. We were a little worried the weather wasn't going to cooperate because it was an outdoor concert, but the rain held off and we were able to enjoy their concert. Kelsi decided that she was too old to come hang out with us that night, so I guess I will have to get used to this now that she is getting older. The concert was really good and the best part was it was Free! The church is putting on these free concerts all summer long on Tuesday and Friday nights, so this may be something we do again later in the summer. I would definitely recommend it - just make sure you don't pick the strawberries!
Saturday we were able to convince Kelsi to come with us to the air show at Hill Air force Base. We decided to ride Trax because we thought Carson would really enjoy that - since it is a lot like a "train". We rode the Trax to downtown and then got on the Front Runner which took us up to Clearfield, where we then got on a shuttle bus over to the Air force Base. We were a little nervous because neither Paul or I had ridden Front Runner, but UTA did a good job at guiding us around. The air show was REALLY cool! However, there were about a MILLION people there! The weather was really nice too, not too hot, but it didn't rain either. We got to see a lot of cool planes and watched some neat tricks in the sky. The things that those guys can do with an airplane are really amazing. There were also some parachuters and the famous Thunder Birds. We had a really good time, and only got a little sunburned!
I am so lucky to have such a wonderful husband and kids that will go along with my crazy ideas!

A day out with Thomas
Over the Memorial Day weekend we spent some time up in Heber with Mary, Fred, Dustin, Natalie and their kids. We also spent some time up in Duchesne with Scott, Michelle and the rest of the gang. It was really cold and rainy in Duchesne, but we were able to enjoy some monster burgers!
The highlight of the weekend was our ride on Thomas the Train! Carson has been looking forward to this for MONTHS! The day was cool, but wasn't too rainy. The kids had a really fun time on the train and enjoying the other activities. We will definitely have to get tickets again for next year - but I am going to wait and not buy them in advance because the Friday before we went there was a coupon in the paper for $4.50 off each ticket- I was slightly aggravated, but am trying to get over it - I guess that's what you get for trying to plan ahead. As Paul always says - "No good deed goes unpunished". Anyways...I am glad that summer is finally here and am looking forward to more trips to Heber!
On Monday we went over to Grandma Honey's and Papa's for a Barbeque - it was also really fun, I love getting together with family.
