Can I just tell you how much I love these kids?

It is so much fun to be an aunt! I love all my nieces and nephews so much and am so glad that the kids on the Swanson side are all so close in age! It is so much fun to get them all together - although it IS loud!

Bestest cousins

I found a quote that said " Cousins are those childhood playmates who grow up to be forever friends" - I definately think that will be the case with all the Swanson cousins!

Valentines Day

We had a wonderful Valentines week at our house!
I decided that starting February 1st that I was going to leave a Valentine for Paul in various places until Valentines day. It was really fun finding different ideas that I could give to him (Thank you Pinterest!!) and I think he enjoyed wondering where he was going to find his valentine for the day. I also did a "fancy" dinner for my family the night of Valentines. We had a cheese fondue appetizer, salad, steak and baked potatoes and a chocolate fondue for desssert. I also bought some sparkling apple cider to drink out of some fancy flutes I found a the dollar store (I think that was Carson & Jaedyn's favorite part). It is fun to show my family how much I love all of them and to have all of us together to celebrate the Valentines Holiday. As usual I also got everyone a little gift - Carson & Jaedyn got new movies, Kelsi got an Itunes gift card, Paul got a new CD and tickets to "Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me" that was showing at Abravanel Hall two days after Valentines.

Paul and I extended the Valentines Holiday by going to dinner at The Blue Lemon and going to the show on Thursday. It was so much fun! We laughed and really enjoyed seeing how they produce the radio program. Mo Rocca was also one of the guest panelists so I was very excited about that!!

Then, as if we hadn't shared enough love with everyone - we decided to take the kids to the Cinnegrill on Saturday.  That is one of our favorite places downtown to go eat, and we thought the kids might enjoy it. Carson loved his spagetti and the kids were excited to give a dollar tip to the piano player.

Valentines is quickly becoming my second favorite Holiday (I don't think anything will ever beat out Halloween). I am so grateful to have my wonderful husband, and my amazing kids! I know that I don't ever show them enough how much I love them, so I hope that maybe at least on Valentines day they will have some idea of  how much I really do love them!!

I'm a big kid now!

Jaedyn and Carson are finally in "big kid" beds - and by that I mean twin size, actual beds. We moved them out of their toddler beds, thanks to our neighbor who so graciously gave us two twins size daybed frames. I spent the better part of a Saturday looking at different Targets to find the right bedding, but I think I did good, and the kids seem to be excited by their new beds and bedding. Carson says "My room looks cool now" and he immediately had to show his friend Brayden his new room. The kids have both been sleeping in their own beds, in their own rooms, and I am actually able to just read them a story, kiss them goodnight and then I get to go to my bed! No more sitting on the floor for up to an hour waiting for them to fall asleep! It has been awesome!

Back to School!

My three kids all started back to school within the past 3 weeks. I can't believe how fast they are growing up. I know back to school is most mother's favorite time of year, but I must admit that I am a little bit sad. I have been able to be home with my two little ones for the past 3 years and not having them here all day will be weird! I'm not saying that it won't be easier to get stuff done, run errands, or find 5 minutes to use the restroom in peace and quiet, but it is sad to be ending the baby stage of our family and moving on to the kids in school stage! Here are pictures of my three little cuties in their new school duds...

Summer 2011

I think the general consensus is that this summer just FLEW BY! Summer didn't seem to even get started until the middle of June and now here we are at the end of August! We didn't have time to do everything we wanted this summer, but Paul did start his new job in July, which is such a major blessing! Here are just a few pictures of Evans' Family Summer 2011....
