I love spending time with my family. This past weekend we had a lot of fun. On Friday night we went downtown to the Brigham Young Historic Park to hear one of our favorite Christian Country bands - Joshua Creek. We packed a picnic lunch of sandwiches, chips, pasta salad, molasses cookies (thanks to my friend Mario Murga for the recipe) and drinks. We set out a blanket and sat and ate, while Carson ran the entire park about 10 times. We were a little worried the weather wasn't going to cooperate because it was an outdoor concert, but the rain held off and we were able to enjoy their concert. Kelsi decided that she was too old to come hang out with us that night, so I guess I will have to get used to this now that she is getting older. The concert was really good and the best part was it was Free! The church is putting on these free concerts all summer long on Tuesday and Friday nights, so this may be something we do again later in the summer. I would definitely recommend it - just make sure you don't pick the strawberries!
Saturday we were able to convince Kelsi to come with us to the air show at Hill Air force Base. We decided to ride Trax because we thought Carson would really enjoy that - since it is a lot like a "train". We rode the Trax to downtown and then got on the Front Runner which took us up to Clearfield, where we then got on a shuttle bus over to the Air force Base. We were a little nervous because neither Paul or I had ridden Front Runner, but UTA did a good job at guiding us around. The air show was REALLY cool! However, there were about a MILLION people there! The weather was really nice too, not too hot, but it didn't rain either. We got to see a lot of cool planes and watched some neat tricks in the sky. The things that those guys can do with an airplane are really amazing. There were also some parachuters and the famous Thunder Birds. We had a really good time, and only got a little sunburned!
I am so lucky to have such a wonderful husband and kids that will go along with my crazy ideas!
